I'm easily entertained.

Today is a teacher development day (aka: no students), and since grading papers is B.O.R.I.N.G., I started making a list of ridiculously misspelled words I found in my students' handwritten essays. Sometimes it takes a while to figure out what they're trying to say, so I've included an English translation. Keep in mind, these are sophomores! Here are my favorites:

"romodel” = role model
eterny” = attorney
ferindly” = friendly
mischeff” = mischief
nife” = knife
inecinse” = innocence
inecint” = innocent
“race’s” = racist
flasely” =falsely

Geez, who is these kids' teacher? I swear, spell-check has ruined Generation Y.

I may not have been the best student, but I can at least say that I was a pretty good speller. These are pretty bad! I do have to admit though, that lately I find myself having a hard time finding the spelling for words I should know.

Oh, I think you're being too generous. Those kids aren't even using spell-check! I know I'm an overexaggeration of Hitler in grammar form, but come on. You've got to at least try!!!

And where IS that English teacher, anyway?

Love these--I started making a mental list myself as I was grading papers Saturday--so funny; so glad I caught the testis statement before that one made it out on the grading rubric :D spell check is so not perfect!

Awesome! Markelle read this list to me out loud the other day while we were hanging out. I think you should make a running list and post it in your room. yeah, I'm that mean; I would totally do that.
Seriously, awesome.
