flashback

In light of Cinco de Mayo... I had an embarrassing flashback moment this morning (that I made the mistake of sharing with my first period class), remembering the three consecutive years that I celebrated
"NSync-o de Mayo".

The fake holiday consisted of listening to nothing but the fake band's fake music and watching N The Mix, while perhaps sporting some home-made JC Chasez gear. How sad.

I never know whether to reminisce and laugh about memories such as these, or bury them deep in my subconscious and pretend they never happened. I really think that pop music in the late 90's was infiltrated with subliminal messages. How else can I justify ever owning such ridiculous NSync paraphernalia as: a singing poster, a singing watch, a marionette, and a board game (that I still can't part with)?

Wow. At least I know I'm not alone here.

YVAN EHT NIOJ! Subliminal messages? You are crazy. Though now I think I'm going to go out and join the navy for some reason. :)

The first step is owning it! I used to have a New Kids on the Block nightgown. I heard they're getting back together. Heaven help us. :) Good to see you guys this weekend!

love it michelle--you sport those memories with pride! I brought little umbrellas to put in everyone's "water" today...wishing it was cuervo!
Let's talk about NSync paraphernalia (had to refer to your blog for the correct spelling) for a minute. I have like four or five videos, yes VIDEOS, a Justin t-shirt, an Nsync board game (where is that by the way... I think my hubby is plotting to throw one thing away each time we move...) two hair brushes and a comb and I dunno what else this IS embarassing! I admit though, once in a while a good NSync song shuffled in with the rest on the i-Pod while I'm going for a run gets my feet movin' faster! :)

I had to put up with this shiz for years whilst my sisters were swooning over GAY dudes dancing with each other... (YES I WAS RIGHT AS NOW PRETTY MUCH ALL OF THEM HAVE NOW SAID AS MUCH)But, you forgot how the other sisters snuck into an N'SYNC concert and you were livid cuz you didn't join!

Um hello Scott... only one of them is gay. Totally different. There is nothing homosexual about young adolescent-ish males dancing with each other on stage. Wait a minute... :)
Well I don't care what anyone says-- I loved these years! Even if I was WAY too old to be an Nsyncer. (Ya, that's a word.)

By the way... why does Chris have GOGGLES on his forehead? Was that ever in style?

It's true that Alicia and Laurel did sneak into an NSync concert but do you remember what Nannie said? She was certain that if given the opportunity you wouldn't have done it. Uh huh. By the way, while organizing old VHS movies the other day, I watched an NSync and a Britney Spears video. Do you remember when your dad said "She's not that innocent"?

How funny Michelle, I wouldn't have pictured you an NSync fan! However, that is a very clever holiday! I also used proactive for a good year and was very dissappointed!! I stopped using it and went to see a dermatologist and my face is finally getting clear!!

I for one enjoy hearing stories of the lee girls and their very real obsession with N'Sync(did I spell it right?) Anyway I am particularly partial to the one where your dad made you write apologies with money to them for sneaking into a concert. Hope I got that right.

oh BTW I did like The Backstreet Boys:)
