The end of June marked the third biannual Lee Family Reunion.  This year was super special because we welcomed home this guy...
My baby brother,Matty, is home from his two year mission in Montana! He is still as stellar as ever and will be returning to BYU Idaho this fall.  And Isabel and Kaiya (aka: Laurel and I) spent way too long coloring that sign.
Alicia documented the whole event on her blog a month ago.  I'm perpetually playing catch up.  Here's a highlight from the "talent" show.

Moving on...
Clint and Jen hosted a ginormous Fourth of July party.  Here's Boston and Kaiya in the three legged foot race.  I love how annoyed he looks by her presence.
Of course Ben spent most of the evening bugging and attempting to communicate with the puppy. I'm never going to buy you a dog, Ben.  I'm serious.

The night was a blast.  Good food. Great fireworks. Jen even gave quite a stirring speech reciting the Declaration of Independence :)  I like to tease her about her nerdiness, but it was actually really cute.

Sometime in the middle of the month, I left my kids outside for 30 seconds and Ben managed to push Kaiya (in the stroller) down the driveway and into a tree.  Is it bad that I laughed a little at the image of all her limbs protruding from the branches?  Anyway, her forehead was pretty scraped up; luckily she heals fast.

 Let's see... what else did we do in July?? Brad had a birthday. Kaiya had swimming lessons. I read some books.  Sweet baby Ben turned into a tempter tantrum-laden toddler.  And then we went to Portland.  More on that later.

Sayla Larsen and Kaiya have dance together on Tuesdays. Imagine a dozen uncoordinated three-year-olds running around a studio in tutus. It's pretty much the cutest thing ever. The girls were playing at our house after class the other day. They are so funny together... See? Told ya.

Valentine's Day photos

Valentine's Day seemed as good an excuse as any to schedule long-overdue photos for the kiddos. (And I'm posting all of my favorites because I can.  Also so that my mom and Marsha can tell me which ones they want me to print for them.) Ben was an absolute turd during this photo shoot, which is why I'm amazed these pictures turned out as good as they did.  I will have to Photoshop that sucker out of his hand when I order prints for the wall, though.  Here's our little GQ junior model...  Seriously, how could anyone stay mad at that face?  And here's Miss Kaiya!  She is growing up WAY too fast for my liking. This one is my favorite! So... once Ben finally cheered up, Kaiya acted up, and our attempts at getting a decent sibling photo were kinda' thwarted... This one will have to do :)

Christmas 2012

Christmas Eve We attempted to teach the Walker grandkids the nativity story by having them act it out.  Ben was uncooperative and the costumes need some work (my fault), but the kids were pretty cute nonetheless.  Ben cheered up when he got to play with this super friendly golden retriever puppy that my in-laws were babysitting/hiding (he was to be a Christmas surprise for some friends).  What is it about this breed that is so stinkin' cute!?    Kaiya decorated some cookies for Santa by emptying two jars of sprinkles. Christmas Day   Since we video taped the whole procession, we neglected to take too many pictures Christmas morning.  But here are a couple shots of the magic.  Among other things, Santa gave Kaiya a puppy... as real a puppy as she'll ever get, anyway :)   Santa also brought Ben his own little car which he's been driving around the basement for three days (alongside Kaiya on her new birt...
