Hot Diggity Dog!

Kaiya turned three just before Christmas and we celebrated at a Mickey Mouse birthday party. We had Mickey cupcakes, rice krispies, and ears for all the cousins (we're up to eleven, btw). I am so grateful to have such a supportive family - we had all of our Utah family here for the big day. I love knowing how much my kids are loved!


Brett and Robyn had a contest to see who could draw the better Mickey on their cards... I don't think Kaiya cared.

I can't remember why Vance isn't in this photo... but I wanted to try to get a shot of all the crazy kids in their ears. (Some were more cooperative than others.)

Megan outdid herself with Kaiya's new beanie. Check out the built in Minnie ears! A--wait for it--mazing.

I love love love this picture of Ben with Scott and Megan.

And now that it's January, Kaiya is a bona fide Sunbeam. She was a champ on Sunday in Primary, not the least bit scared or sad. Brad and I were sitting on the back row (he was helping me with my six year old class) and Kaiya turned around to give him a huge grin and a thumbs up! She also volunteered to help lead two songs. I don't think there's a shy bone in that girl's body :)

Call me crazy, but I have started to look forward to Kaiya's birthday almost as much as Christmas! It certainly goes right along with Christmas. Her party is always a serious celebration! i loved this year's theme!!! OK, that picture with Ben IS adorable! We love your kiddos so much! Thanks for sharing them!

That beanlee that Megan made was fantastic. I've never seen anything like it. She is one talented girl--and Kaiya is one lucky lady. What a fun birthday party!

Valentine's Day photos

Valentine's Day seemed as good an excuse as any to schedule long-overdue photos for the kiddos. (And I'm posting all of my favorites because I can.  Also so that my mom and Marsha can tell me which ones they want me to print for them.) Ben was an absolute turd during this photo shoot, which is why I'm amazed these pictures turned out as good as they did.  I will have to Photoshop that sucker out of his hand when I order prints for the wall, though.  Here's our little GQ junior model...  Seriously, how could anyone stay mad at that face?  And here's Miss Kaiya!  She is growing up WAY too fast for my liking. This one is my favorite! So... once Ben finally cheered up, Kaiya acted up, and our attempts at getting a decent sibling photo were kinda' thwarted... This one will have to do :)

Christmas 2012

Christmas Eve We attempted to teach the Walker grandkids the nativity story by having them act it out.  Ben was uncooperative and the costumes need some work (my fault), but the kids were pretty cute nonetheless.  Ben cheered up when he got to play with this super friendly golden retriever puppy that my in-laws were babysitting/hiding (he was to be a Christmas surprise for some friends).  What is it about this breed that is so stinkin' cute!?    Kaiya decorated some cookies for Santa by emptying two jars of sprinkles. Christmas Day   Since we video taped the whole procession, we neglected to take too many pictures Christmas morning.  But here are a couple shots of the magic.  Among other things, Santa gave Kaiya a puppy... as real a puppy as she'll ever get, anyway :)   Santa also brought Ben his own little car which he's been driving around the basement for three days (alongside Kaiya on her new birt...
