My Buddy

"Wherever I go, he goes..."

I never did have a My Buddy growing up. (I did have a Kid Sister. Her name was Heather and she was kind of the bomb.) But I sure am loving my newest buddy, Ben.

He had his four month checkup last week, and I can't remember the exact numbers, but I do know that he's 50th percentile for weight and 75th for height. I guess he does have some Lee genes after all! He's healthy and strong and meeting his developmental benchmarks. But he did have to get some immunizations. It was actually kind of cute -- when Ben got his shots, Kaiya sympathy-cried longer and louder than he did. She didn't want the nurse hurting "My Benny". Ben, on the other hand, was back to his smiley, happy self in no time.

I don't know how I got so lucky!




We celebrated Alicia's birthday last week up at her house in Taylorsville, and Ben was LOVING Megan all night. He would just light up and giggle whenever she talked to him. It was so cute!

I couldn't decide which one of these with Scott and Megan I liked better. You pick.

Oh my gosh! I love his happy face. Isn't it awesome that he and Kaiya look so different from one another and yet you can tell that they are brother and sister? Let's see, I was in Utah during October, January, and February. When can we get together again?

I love him. I mean I love him! Can I have him be my buddy? That night was extra special for me--he really was "sparkling" when he would see me! It meant so much!

Valentine's Day photos

Valentine's Day seemed as good an excuse as any to schedule long-overdue photos for the kiddos. (And I'm posting all of my favorites because I can.  Also so that my mom and Marsha can tell me which ones they want me to print for them.) Ben was an absolute turd during this photo shoot, which is why I'm amazed these pictures turned out as good as they did.  I will have to Photoshop that sucker out of his hand when I order prints for the wall, though.  Here's our little GQ junior model...  Seriously, how could anyone stay mad at that face?  And here's Miss Kaiya!  She is growing up WAY too fast for my liking. This one is my favorite! So... once Ben finally cheered up, Kaiya acted up, and our attempts at getting a decent sibling photo were kinda' thwarted... This one will have to do :)

Christmas 2012

Christmas Eve We attempted to teach the Walker grandkids the nativity story by having them act it out.  Ben was uncooperative and the costumes need some work (my fault), but the kids were pretty cute nonetheless.  Ben cheered up when he got to play with this super friendly golden retriever puppy that my in-laws were babysitting/hiding (he was to be a Christmas surprise for some friends).  What is it about this breed that is so stinkin' cute!?    Kaiya decorated some cookies for Santa by emptying two jars of sprinkles. Christmas Day   Since we video taped the whole procession, we neglected to take too many pictures Christmas morning.  But here are a couple shots of the magic.  Among other things, Santa gave Kaiya a puppy... as real a puppy as she'll ever get, anyway :)   Santa also brought Ben his own little car which he's been driving around the basement for three days (alongside Kaiya on her new birt...
