Punctuality is for suckers.

School starts at 7:55, but I'm supposed to be here by 7:30. Yeah right. I've been shuffling in at about 7:45 since I started at PHS, and for the most part I've gotten away with it. (I was in a portable, and I have a sneaking suspision that nobody would have noticed if I didn't even show up.) Except that this year, I'm struggling to get here before the tardy bell. You know - the one that I pretend is such a big deal when I'm docking my students' attendance grades? It's pretty embarrassing when 35 kids are standing in the hallway at 7:52, waiting for their hypocrite teacher to come unlock her door. When questioned by students in the past, I've been known to lie about morning meetings, making copies, etc.

This morning, I worked so so hard to get here on time. I pulled in at 7:35, and I'm totally proud of myself. Because in my deluded mind, that's 20 minutes early.

What's wrong with me?

Your posts are my favorites. I laughed out loud but mostly because I'm as deluded as you are. Jake has this obnoxious idea that if you show up on time, you're late and I'm thinking how great we are to show up to church before the opening hymn is over...

I was under the impression that the tardy bell WAS the only late bell... :) Love this!

I don't care what anyone says... you are early. And good for you! I too suffered from chronic lateness while teaching. Oh who am I kidding? I am really good at being about 10-15 minutes late for just about everything.
umm...when are you going to post pics of the baby belly?? Do you even have one by now?? :)

Someone famous once said that tardiness is a state of mind, and it wasn't your dad. You're pregnant and you're there, right? I still love you.

so, I totally thought of you in the shower today...let me finish. I was washing my eye make-up off with soap and had one of the worst freak outs ever. I frantically semi washed off the soap but had to open my eyes to make sure no bad guys, ghost, or monsters were in the shower/bathroom with me. Dont't worry nobody was there. Like I said it made me think of you and made me feel better knowing that you possess the same fear. so thank you for not being able to close your eyes in the shower too.

Michelle you know that your blog is on a little something called the internet. Which means anyone can read including students and PHS administration. Careful anything you say can and will be used against you.
