"It's like the end of an era!" "I know!"

Okay, so Brad and I are big nerds (I think you already knew that), and we have read all the Harry Potter books together. As in - we read them out loud to each other and Brad does voices. So even though The Deathly Hallows has been out for a couple weeks now, we just barely got time to read it while driving to and from California this past week. (Hence the lapse in posts, sorry!) And let me tell you, it's AMAZING! I loved it and I really don't think the series could have ended any better.

Everything from the previous books is wrapped up so well... I won't give anything away to those still reading or who may read it in the future (even though it may have already been ruined by my sneaky, read-the-last-page-first sister). I laughed, I cried, I swooned, I panicked, I cheered, and I'm kind of sad that the saga is over.

Hey... that's me you're talking about! I know, I know, I'm the devil. But it was Blaine's idea, and I didn't tell you anything! Glad you liked it. But boy for someone who hates so many "popular" things, you sure jumped on the Harry bandwagon. Just Kidding. You know I'll read them someday. :)

I totally feel like I'm selling out and jumping on all the bandwagons lately. But the funny thing is, I don't care... turns out it's a good train

This summer Brett and Matt told me that I was a Harry poser and that I needed to read the 5th book before the movie came out. So, having only read the first two books together with Matt, not reading the third, and only reading half of the fourth before that movie came out, I began my Summer of Harry. I am not even ashamed to say that I love the boy and that he is very real to me. The books got so much better as they progressed, and even though I called who would end up with who during the first book... there were plenty of surprises. The story of good verses evil is universal and this one is told in a wonderful way. Loved it. So Michelle, we can join the nerd convention together. Oh wait. We did long before this.
Love,
Mama Lee

Okay so I love your blog! Anyway, Patrick and I will jump on the Potter nerd wagon with you and Brad. We'll probably be the driver's actually. We both had it read before the release weekend was over (two separate books of course) and then spent the next few days getting my brother off to the MTC before realizing that all housework had been completely neglected...oops...times that by 3 (kids that is)and we were sure glad not to have had any unexpected visitors stop by to actually witness the chaos. Anyway, I'm sad it's over. No, I didn't cry (surprised?) but I felt the same way, it couldn't have ended any better. So now I have been occupying my "reading time" (the middle of the night when the kids are asleep) with the Twilight series, but at a much slower pace of course ;) GOOD-BYE HARRY!

I've got to agree w/Alicia on this one, Harry Potter is pretty popular and by "pretty popular" I mean possibly the widest circulated book(s) -- EVER! There is something like 325 Million copies worldwide. Which leads me to ask the next question, how can reading the most popular book series on the planet make you a nerd? Answer: you're NOT a nerd. :)
