Has it seriously been a month?
In the words of Inigo Montoya, "Let me explain. No, there is too much. Let me sum up."
School ended.
We went on another roadtrip to the Great Northwest (this time with the Carters).
I turned 27.
Ben can now crawl like a wounded soldier.
Ben now has one tooth.
Kaiya will start potty training next week (wish us luck)!
We've spent the last five days watching the Lillywhites' kids. Five under the age of six. It's been loud.
Back to that roadtrip... We crammed all eight of us--four of whom are in diapers--in our Sequoia for the 16(ish) hour drive to Camas. We are nuts. But surprisingly, I would probably do it again. Once there, we had fun hanging out with DeeDee and PopPop and bumming around town. Here are some shots from my parents' front yard, you can see in the background that they were pouring a new front porch. It now has a really pretty red brick trim that matches their house. I love it! Ben was having a blast playing with the leaves of this tree. I snapped this priceless picture of Alicia holding him...

And then I got jealous that is wasn't me holding him in the picture... so we tried for another. None of them are quite as good as the first one, but they're cute.

We spent my birthday afternoon out on the lake. Kaiya was hilarous in the tube. She kept saying things like, "PopPop is nice for us ride in his boat." and "We're going so fast!" and "Bouncy, bouncy, bouncy!"

Yes, those giant, translucent things are my legs.

She also enjoyed watching Jake and Alicia take their turn.

Ben just enjoyed the scenery from my mom's lap. I know I'm his mom and all moms think their kids are cute... but seriously... Ben has got to be the most handsome baby I've ever seen.

We had so much fun and I'm glad we got to go with Alicia and Blaine. These last few pictures were taken during one of many bubble-blowing sessions on the deck. Here's Jake.

There's a good reason I cropped him out of this one... who does that crabby kid in the blue belong to?

And here's Sarah, who (as evidenced during several games of Just Dance,) does a far better "shimmy" than I do. It's kind of the cutest thing ever.
