The Walkers

So, remember the Gilmore Girls when Logan's friends have the Quentin Tarantino party? And Rory dresses up like Gogo and I kind of want to be her? Well, since it's my dream to live in my own personal Stars Hollow, Laurel and I put our own spin on the party idea, and threw a John Hughes party for Alicia's 30th birthday last weekend. Everybody had to dress up as their favorite character from a John Hughes movie (seriously look him up on IMBD.... you'd be suprised how many of your favorites he has written and/or directed). Here are some highlights: Megan as Ginny Baker ( Sixteen Candles ) on muscle relaxers. Doug as John Bender ( The Breakfast Club ) and Jen as Sloane Peterson ( Ferris Beuller ). Jen even added fringe to her jacket! We're blessing Kaiya next Sunday (March 1st) at 11:00. If you'd like to come, we'd love to have you there. Our church is literally two houses away from ours; you can't miss it. We'll have a little shindig afterward as well, so come hungry. p.s. I picked up her pretty, pretty dress last night and I'm so excited to show it off!

I think it's funny that every parent that just read this blog title got a little defensive. I finally understand the mentality. Anyway, I apologize for the crappy camera phone pictures... it's all I have at my disposal at work. I keep forgetting to upload new pictures from my real camera. Kaiya is smiling more and more every day! She had her two month check-up yesterday, and here's what we learned... Weight: 11 pounds, 11 ounces (75th percentile) Length: 23 inches (75th percentile) Brad thinks she's getting too fat. (Check out the picture below!) I think she's just getting cuter.

So, you know the scene in the last Austin Powers movie when Fat Bastard shows up and he's all skinny? Take a moment and visualize the nasty excess skin folds hanging off of his body. That's what my stomach looks like.

My neighbor came over last week and made these molds of Kaiya's hands. It was really cool to watch... she dunked Kaiya's hands in Dixie cups filled with dental mold stuff, then filled them with a stone mixture. The result is a perfect replication of my baby's little fists. Cool huh? I was so excited to show Brad. When he came home, he didn't miss a beat. He took one look at the sculpture and asked if we could donate it to Jabba's palace. You know, to complete his humans-in-carbonite collection. By the way, while looking for a picture of said human-in-carbonite, I found by brother Scott's new desk. What the??
